Grizzly Screens for your process

Remove fines from a coarse, heavy material stream.

JVI grizzly screens use robust screening elements to separate smaller material from a coarse stream. They are suited to duties where the feed contains large pieces, impact or abrasive material and a conventional fine screening surface is not the starting point.

Example: Separate undersize from an aggregate or recycling stream ahead of the next machine.

Also known as: Vibrating grizzlies, grizzly feeders, coarse scalping screens.

Handle coarse feed

review maximum lump size, impact and bulk loading.

Make the intended cut

bar or finger arrangements and openings are selected for the separation.

Manage abrasive service

wear protection and accessible components support maintenance planning.

How It Works

1

Distribute coarse feed

2

Smaller material passes the openings

3

Larger material continues to the oversize discharge

Typical Materials & Industries

Aggregates

coarse rock streams with fines to remove.

Mining

heavy mineral feed requiring a robust scalping arrangement.

Recycling

mixed coarse materials with application-specific wear and opening needs.

Configuration & Application Review

Equipment duty
Remove fines from a coarse, heavy material stream.
Selection basis
Material, bulk density, particle sizes, flowability, throughput, inlet and outlet elevations, and the equipment supported above and below the unit.
Available configuration review
Bar or finger arrangement, Screen opening, Single or selected multi-deck layout, Abrasion-resistant liners, Feed and discharge chutes, Support and access provisions.
Application verification
Particle shape, orientation, moisture, feed depth and presentation also affect separation. Use a representative feed description and acceptance criteria when reviewing the screen.

Options to discuss

  • Bar or finger arrangement
  • Screen opening
  • Single or selected multi-deck layout
  • Abrasion-resistant liners
  • Feed and discharge chutes
  • Support and access provisions

Application Questions

Will the opening alone determine the cut?

Particle shape, orientation, moisture, feed depth and presentation also affect separation. Use a representative feed description and acceptance criteria when reviewing the screen.

What should I send RTS for a review?

Material, bulk density, particle sizes, flowability, throughput, inlet and outlet elevations, and the equipment supported above and below the unit.

Vibratory Feeders

Meter the feed

Vibratory Feeders >>

Control the delivery of bulk material to the next process.

Example: Supply a screener or sorting machine with a controlled material stream.

Also known as: Vibrating feeders, pan feeders, electromagnetic feeders, electromechanical feeders.

Vibratory Screens

Make a size cut

Vibratory Screens >>

Separate material around a defined size or removal duty.

Example: Remove oversize ahead of a process, or divide a feed into useful size fractions.

Also known as: Vibrating screens, sizing screens, scalping screens, classifying screens.

Spiral Elevators

Elevate the product

Spiral Elevators >>

Raise bulk material within a compact vertical footprint.

Example: Raise plastic granules while reviewing a forced-air cooling requirement.

Also known as: Vibrating spiral elevators, spiral conveyors, vibratory elevators.

Vibrating Conveyors

Convey along a route

Vibrating Conveyors >>

Carry bulk solids along the required process route.

Example: Transfer material between process machines through a covered conveying trough.

Also known as: Vibratory conveyors, vibrating trough conveyors, bulk-solids conveyors.

Tube Feeders

Enclose the transfer

Tube Feeders >>

Move or meter material through an enclosed vibratory path.

Example: Feed a downstream process while containing a dusty bulk material.

Also known as: Vibrating tube feeders, enclosed vibratory feeders, tubular feeders.
