Improve Feeding Accuracy | Control Material Flow | Increase Process Reliability
We help identify and implement the right Acrison dry solids metering solution for powders, granules, flakes, pellets, ingredients, additives, and dry chemicals. From volumetric feeders and weigh feeders to bin dischargers, continuous blenders, bulk bag unloaders, dust collectors, and control systems, Acrison equipment helps manufacturers improve feeding accuracy, material handling reliability, and process control.
Get a Dry Solids Metering RecommendationModels 101/130 Series · Meter a controlled volume of free-flowing granules or pellets.
Is the material free flowing, with sufficiently consistent bulk density?
Acrison Models 101 and 130 are single-auger volumetric feeders for dry granular and pelletized ingredients. The selected auger and drive speed set the volume delivered. They provide a straightforward starting point when the material flows reliably and the process does not require continuous weight feedback.
Typical application
Meter plastic masterbatch pellets or another suitable free-flowing ingredient into a process.
Also known as: Volumetric screw feeders, single-auger feeders, dry ingredient dosers.
Select the auger and operating speed around the required volumetric output.
A single-auger mechanism meters suitable free-flowing dry solids.
Self-emptying construction and optional quick disconnects support the cleanout discussion.
The hopper supplies a suitable free-flowing material to the metering auger.
A variable-speed gearmotor rotates the auger to deliver the selected volume.
Establish the rate with the actual material and recheck when its properties or process conditions change.

Suitable dry, free-flowing ingredients. Review bulk density, moisture, fragility, and cleanout needs before selection.
Dry granular chemicals and other suitable free-flowing solids. Confirm compatibility, particle dimensions, and wear.
Exact-model material demonstration
Watch Acrison’s actual material demonstration at the feeder discharge. It illustrates the Model 101 handling a free-flowing pellet product; performance for your material and rate still needs to be established.

Describe the product as it reaches the feeder, including pellet shape, size distribution, moisture, and bulk-density variation. Confirm whether your setpoint is a volume per hour or a mass per hour, then establish the usable auger and speed range in a material trial.

Manufacturer application history
In Acrison’s Cadbury case history, the requirement involved variable-density powder and a hopper that compacted the ingredients. The project used a Model 105 double-concentric-auger feeder after material trials. It is a useful reminder to choose the metering mechanism around the material, rather than assuming a 101/130 single auger suits every powder.

Review My Feeding RequirementsAt the same volumetric output, a change in bulk density changes the mass delivered. If the process requires controlled kg/h despite density variation, compare loss-in-weight or weighbelt feeding and validate the required performance with the actual material.
Acrison offers witnessed equipment demonstrations and material testing. Agree on the feed-rate range, sample collection method, test duration, and acceptance criteria so the results reflect the intended process.
Consider the hopper, metering mechanism, weighing method where applicable, refill supply, controls, discharge connection, dust management, and access for cleaning. Identify which equipment and interfaces need to be included in the quotation.

Meter by volume
Meter a controlled volume of free-flowing granules or pellets.
Example: Meter plastic masterbatch pellets or another suitable free-flowing ingredient into a process.
Also known as: Volumetric screw feeders, single-auger feeders, dry ingredient dosers.
Control by loss of weight
Control ingredient mass flow using loss-in-weight measurement.
Example: Control an additive or ingredient feed in kg/h, or deliver a defined batch quantity.
Also known as: Loss-in-weight feeders, weight-loss weigh feeders, LIW feeders, gravimetric dosing systems.
Weigh a continuous belt stream
Control a continuous dry-solids stream with a weighed belt and integral prefeeder.
Example: Meter a continuous ingredient stream where a suitable prefeeder can deliver the material consistently onto the belt.
Also known as: Weigh belt feeders, belt weigh feeders, gravimetric belt feeders, continuous weigh feeders.
