Capacitance Level Transmitters for your process

Measure changing liquid level or a suitable interface with a contact probe.

UWT NivoCapa NC 8000 equipment uses capacitance for continuous level and selected interface applications. Probe construction, liquid properties and the installation determine suitability. This is different from a Capanivo or RFnivo point-level switch.

Example: Monitor the level of a suitable process liquid in a vessel.

Also known as: Continuous capacitive level sensors, NivoCapa NC 8000, interface measurement.

Review liquid properties

dielectric behaviour and conductivity affect the measurement arrangement.

Match the probe

rod or rope construction and insulation must suit the medium and vessel.

Define interface duty

measuring two phases requires a suitable product combination and setup.

How It Works

1

Contact the medium with the selected probe

2

Measure capacitance over the configured range

3

Output level or the validated interface measurement

Typical Materials & Industries

Process liquids

chemistry and temperature guide contact construction.

Chemical vessels

review conductivity, coating and cleaning conditions.

Selected interfaces

establish the two media and their changing composition.

NivoCapa liquid and interface measurement

UWT explains continuous capacitance measurement for liquids and suitable interfaces. Probe and medium selection remain application specific.

Application Questions

Is continuous capacitance the same as a capacitive switch?

No. A switch reports a condition at a point; a continuous instrument provides a changing measurement over a defined range. Choose the required output before comparing the probe designs.

Compare UWT Level Measurement Options

Rotary Paddle Level Switches

Switch at a point

Rotary Paddle Level Switches >>

Signal when bulk material reaches a selected point.

Example: Provide a high- or low-level signal in a grain bin.

Also known as: Paddle level switches, bin level switches, Rotonivo RN 3000/6000.

Vibrating Level Switches

Sense with vibration

Vibrating Level Switches >>

Detect whether bulk solids cover a vibrating sensing element.

Example: Detect a low or high level of a suitable granular ingredient.

Also known as: Vibrating fork switches, vibrating level switches, Vibranivo VN 4000.

Capacitance Point-Level Switches

Switch capacitively

Capacitance Point-Level Switches >>

Detect material at a selected location using a capacitive probe.

Example: Provide a level-limit signal for a powder bin.

Also known as: Capacitive level switches, RF admittance switches, RFnivo RF 3000.

Radar Level Transmitters

Measure without contact

Radar Level Transmitters >>

Measure a changing level without a probe touching the material.

Example: Monitor a tank or suitable bulk-solids vessel without a mechanical sensing weight.

Also known as: Non-contact radar sensors, NivoRadar NR 7100, continuous radar level.

Electromechanical Plumb-Bob Level Systems

Measure with a weight

Electromechanical Plumb-Bob Level Systems >>

Measure bulk-solid level with an automatically lowered sensing weight.

Example: Take scheduled level measurements in a bulk storage silo.

Also known as: Plumb-bob level systems, electromechanical level measurement, NivoBob NB 3000.
