Tool Release (TR)The BFM® Tool Release (TR) option is designed for installations where connectors are positioned close to fast-rotating equipment, providing an added layer of safety for operators and maintenance personnel. The TR snap-band is engineered with a tighter engagement than standard connectors, making manual removal virtually impossible. This secure fit also makes it well suited for vacuum (negative pressure) applications. A dedicated BFM® Tool Release Tool is required to disengage the snap-band. The tool is inserted through a designated TR access hole located in the top ridge of the spigot. For safety control, the tool should be stored securely to prevent unauthorized access. TR connectors (Seeflex 040E, 020E, and 060ES) are marked with a white embossed identifier for easy distinction from standard fittings. Applications

TR Lock-Out Safety SystemFor applications requiring even greater security, the TR Lock-Out Safety System prevents unauthorized tool access to the Tool Release hole. An elliptical lock-out tube with a 7mm through-hole is welded over the TR access port on the spigot. A standard padlock (up to 6.5mm shackle diameter) can then be inserted to physically block tool insertion and prevent connector removal. Applications

WITH TRADITIONAL METHODS
THE BFM DIFFERENCE ENSURES
BFM® Global Ltd is the manufacturer of the patented BFM® fitting system — the world’s first snap-fit flexible connector engineered to eliminate the persistent problems associated with traditional hose-clamped industrial sleeves.
The system was developed by founder and CEO Blair F. McPheat after witnessing widespread dust leakage, product loss, and costly downtime in manufacturing plants using conventional clamped connections. Excessive clean-ups, maintenance interruptions, and hygiene concerns were reducing productivity and increasing operational risk across bulk material handling facilities.
Today, the BFM® fitting BLUEBAND™ flexible connector system is recognized globally as the gold standard for dust-tight, leak-free performance. Trusted by leading food, pharmaceutical, chemical, and mineral processing manufacturers, BFM® connectors improve plant hygiene, reduce contamination risk, enhance safety, and minimize downtime.
OEM equipment manufacturers also specify BFM® fittings as standard components on new machinery, recognizing the value they add in compliance, efficiency, and long-term reliability.
Upgrade to a proven, patented flexible connection system designed for modern processing environments.

A BFM® fitting comprises a unique snap-in, blue-banded flexible connector that sits between two specially formed steel spigots welded to an inlet and outlet in a process line.
Together, the system eliminates the problems associated with old-fashioned clamp-style flexible connectors.

“They’re one of the best things we’ve found…since installing the first two fittings, we’ve been replacing all of the remaining clamp-and-sleeve connectors in the facility with BFM® fittings. I’ve been putting them everywhere there’s a transfer point because they make things so much easier for our operators.”

CLEANING & REFITTING PROCESS SIMPLIFIED
Change From Clamped Connectors Helps Retain Valuable Product
"BFM® fittings were installed to replace all existing hose-clip type connections on both the ultrasonic vibrating sifter and electronic magnet filter.
Now the internal cleaning process can be completed in a much shorter time due to the fast and easy snap-fit removal and re-installation process of the BFM® fitting."

BFM® FITTING CONTAINS SUPER-FINE POWDER
Increased Production Efficiency
“Shortly after buying the first two BFM® fittings over 13 years ago, our Continuous Improvement LEAN Process outcomes demanded we purchase more due to the time savings during set-ups, the reliability of a good seal and the ease of assembly and cleaning for our operators. We have never had a BFM® connector let go or lose product which would be a costly event in the pharma industry. We now have them fitted to all our gravity transfer systems and product mixing bins.”

Connectors Now Lasting Over 50 Times Longer
“Plaster is very fine and gets everywhere. It is difficult to contain, particularly when your connecting sleeve has holes in it! BFM® has been brilliant. The connector seals inside the spigot so it can’t chafe on the sharp edges and there are no jubilee clips to tear the fabric. It lasts for longer and best of all it doesn’t leak any dust.”
