Coarse Crushing

There has always been a need for crushing big things into smaller pieces - stones, ore, ice, grain and more. Coarse crushers such as our impact crushers, cage mills, hammer mills and lump breakers are integral to this process and ultimately make it easier to further process your materials.

What is an Impact Crusher?

An impact crusher is a machine that uses striking as opposed to pressure to reduce the size of a material. Impact crushers are designated as a primary, secondary, tertiary or quarternary rotor crusher depending on which processing stage the equipment is being utilized.

Types of Impact Crushers:

  • Horizontal shaft impactors (HSI)
  • Cage mill pulverizers
  • Vertical shaft impactors (VSI)
Mega-Slam™ Primary Impact Crushers

Mega-Slam primary impact crushers are engineered for low maintenance and feature simplified interior access to breaker bars, primary and secondary aprons and side liners, maximizing production uptime. Our line of HSI’s features the thickest housing liners in the industry.

Grand-Slam™ Secondary Impact Crushers
The Stedman Grand-Slam secondary impact crushers are built to handle thousands of materials, ores, and chemicals in wet and dry applications. The crushing action of the Grand-Slam HSI delivers properly sized material the first time through.

The field-proven, Stedman Grand Slam secondary impact crushers will give you years of dependable and profitable service. Innovative features make it superior in performance to any type any of its kind today. These are available in 12 low maintenance, minimum downtime models with interchangeable breaker bars, breaker plates and side liners for all models.

Vertical Shaft Impactors

V-Slam™ VSI Models from Stedman are vertical shaft impactors for all your coarse-to-fine crushing needs. VSI crushers offer significant savings over higher-priced competitive crushers. The V-Slam, with its low horsepower per ton of throughput, minimizes operating costs.

Our vertical shaft impactors feature multiple rotor configurations for various applications. From open and enclosed rotors to the Stedman Patented Tubular Rotor, each machine is configured to provide customers exactly what is needed for their unique application.

The V-Slam has a wide speed range as well as the highest rotor tip speed allowing a high degree of process control.

Discharge Aids

Discharge aids are used to help encourage the flow of bulk material out of a collection hopper or silo. Air sweeps, Vibrators are examples of how to help keep the flow going.

Dust Collection & Air Filtration

Dust collection is vital in every manufacturing operations’ overall safety.  Dust collection systems have pick up points that collect dust that otherwise become airborne and into the factory atmosphere while handling.  Sometimes the collected dust is valuable and can be of further use.

Fans & Blowers

With regards to dry bulk process, fans and blowers are used to either push, suck or blow air and/or dry product through an enclosed system.  They are frequently used in pneumatic/vacuum conveying systems.

Feeding

Feeders are used to accurately meter a certain amount of product into a batch or continuous process at a fixed rate. This can be done volumetrically (each screw rotation displaces a fixed volume of product) or gravimetrically (through loss in weight).

Fittings

A good fittings system will keep your production areas cleaner, saving you valuable time, money and provide a better environment for staff.  We offer the best flexible fittings system on the market!

Gate Valves - Titan Series

Titan series slide gates are used in gravity or pneumatic process applications to control the flow of heavy duty and abrasive material in nature such as clinker, cement, fly ash, sand, and gravel, . These heavy duty valves are designed to be serviced in line without having to remove the valve, minimizing downtime.

Loading Solutions

Our retractable loading spouts are often used in railcar, truck, ship, barge and stockpile loading. These are designed to capture dust, prevent material from being wasted, and ensure plant safety.

Magnetic Separation

Magnetic separation is required when trying to separate ferrous materials (with iron content) from a product stream. This is often seen in the construction & demolition, mining, and recyling sectors. This can help recover metal, as well as protect downstream equipment from costly damages.

Metal Detection

Metal detectors are used to detect any metal contaminants in a product stream, or protect downstream equipment from costly damage.

Pneumatic Conveying

With no mechanically moving parts, pneumatic conveying is often used in many dry material applications. This type of system is comprised of a blower, filter, receiver, piping and discharge points. Pneumatic conveying can achieve conveying to distances and configurations that other conveying equipment cannot.

Sampling

These samplers automatically inject a tube in a process stream to collect a sample which gets reviewed by a companies Quality Assurance group. This is the cleanest way of extracting samples from a product stream.download

Screening

Screening equipment is used to separate materials based on their size, or as a means of policing for contaminants in a product stream.RussellFinex logo

Screw Conveying - Flexible

Commonly used in many material transfer systems, screw conveyors offer a proven and economical way to move dry product from one place to another. We offer flexible units which have the ability to bend, as well as shafted and shaftless rigid conveyors that are engineered to order.

Vibratory Equipment

Some material is too abrasive to convey in a screw or pneumatically. This is where vibratory equipment comes in. Less moving parts offers more efficiency for your process.
